108 Contemporary has opened! It is the latest in a series of projects I’m working on with my firm, Kinslow, Keith & Todd, in the Brady Arts District north of downtown Tulsa. You may recall from early posts that Guthrie Green, just across the street and visible in some of the images below, opened last fall and Zarrow Center before that. The opening exhibit is work by tapestry artist Jon Eric Riis from Atlanta, Georgia. I talked with Mr. Riis for quite some time at the opening and found to him to be a great guy. The gallery itself is impressive as well. The large north facing windows allow plenty of natural light into the space. The movable walls panels are 15-1/2 feet tall and rest on a beautifully polished architectural concrete floor. I decided to photograph the space in the late afternoon and early evening to take advantage of the warm evening light that brings out its character.
