Bent Tree

Over the weekend I went back to the river to see how it was doing. Water was up; otherwise, there were very few signs of spring. I have photographed this tree before and will probably do so again. It sits out on a small peninsula and has a lot of character. Since it was an overcast day, the sky was not compelling at all, I decided to go with a black & white image. I tried to further accentuate the layered composition by burning the foreground for additional depth and texture. If nothing else, I gained more experience pushing myself with Lightroom to make the image I see in my head.
