For my first post I’d like to share a simple picture of the house I designed for my family that is now our home. It’s located on a sloped and wooded site in an otherwise normal subdivision. We love the setting and the neighborhood. We’re on a cul-de-sac and the front of the house stands tall as it engages the neighborhood. Out back we live with the light and landscape. We took full advantage of the northern exposure by filling the facade with glass windows and doors for beautiful light and building a deck, which extends the full length of the house, for enjoying cool mornings and evenings outside. In summer, we view a sea of trees and listen to the birds sing. In winter, the bare trees reveal the meandering creek and neighborhood below.
