McConnells Mill Covered Bridge

While in Pennsylvania over spring break we visited McConnells Mill State Park about 40 miles north of Pittsburgh. It’s a spectacular park that I enjoyed seeing again after almost 30 years. When I was younger I spent quite a bit of time there hiking and rock climbing with friends. In those days I rarely, if ever, brought a camera with me, but on this trip, I did. The covered bridge in this photograph was built in 1874. According to the guide book it is a Howe Truss design and is one of only two covered bridges in Lawrence County. I wish I lived closer because there are many more images to be captured along Slippery Rock Creek and in the park.
