The Mary K. Oxley Nature Center is a great place to visit anytime of the year for photography. This winter has been a mild one for Tulsa. Last year at this time we were recovering from a blizzard, but who needs snow to capture a winter landscape? Oxley has over 9 miles of trails covering 804 acres of diverse habitat full of native flora and fauna all year. The flood-plain forest features many different tree species and a variety of grasses and shrubs. All kinds of wildlife: deer, beaver, birds and butterflies, call it home. For this outing I committed myself to using one prime lens, the new Zeiss 25mm f/2.0, which I rented from LensRentals. Great company should you ever need to rent camera gear. The resolving power of the Zeiss was unbelievable, like nothing I shoot with normally. Here are just a few images from my visit.
Forest – NIKON D90, ZEISS 25.0 mm f/2.0 – 25 mm, f/11 @ 1/1, ISO 200

9 Feb 2012Sorry I am late, but just saw the e-mail. Wasn’t on the computer yesterday. Really nice pictures, close up and personal. I guess that is the zeiss lenses. Good Job.
