The Battle of Round Mountains was the first Civil War battle fought in Indian Territory and a reenactment is held annually in Yale, Oklahoma near the original battlefield. This was the first such event that I’ve ever attended. It was incredibly fun and educational. I was impressed by the reenactors and their enthusiasm. They were open to questions and photography and I plan to upload a full set of images to Flickr soon. The scene in this image is from the last charge of the battle when the Rebels routed the Yankees.
