Winter Portraits

We continue to get snow. While I spend most of my hours outside shoveling, we do find time for fun. My daughter and I went sledding, shot some iPhone videos doing so, and hiked through the neighborhood, but before all that, I took an early morning walk on the day after last week’s blizzard with the Nikon. The sunrise was brilliant. Its rays penetrated and my spirit glistened with the snow. It was a new day and it reminded me of how the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Sounds, when they occurred, were crisp but quiet. Needless to say, I enjoyed my walk.

The ushanka I’m wearing in the photograph below belonged to my father-in-law. He brought it back from a trip to Ukraine. Other than when I first tried it on, this was my first time to really wear it. The fit is just right. I think I’ll have to start keeping my head warm with it more often.

While playing in the snow was fun, it was also very cold outside. We had to bundled up. Here we have fashionable young lady wearing a balaclava, two hoods and a scarf.
